“Where The Good Way Is”

Thus says the Lord:  “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.  But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.'”

Jeremiah 6:16

Only one path leads to God…and that path is Jesus (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).  Only through obeying His commandments will anyone find God making His home with them (John 14:21-23).  The grace of God which saves us teaches us to obey Him (Tit. 2:11-12).  That is the only path to salvation (Heb. 5:9; Matt. 7:21-27).

So there is only one path to God…but that doesn’t mean that only one path exists.

Only one path which leads to God exists…but other paths which lead to other places also exist.

Only one way is “the good way” (Jer. 6:16)…but there are other paths which one may choose to take which are not the good way.

Unfortunately, many choose ways other than the good way, and do so to their own ultimate destruction (Matt. 7:13-14).  Many see the good way, and choose not to walk on it (Jer. 6:16).  Here is why they do so:

“For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.”

2 Timothy 4:3-4

Which way will you choose?  The good way which is found only in God’s Word?  Or your own path that ultimately will lead you to a place you will not wish to go?
