Christians, as you go about your life, are you trying to convert people to Christ? If not, why not? Put another way, do you love the lost enough to share the gospel with them? Do you love your church family enough to both edify them and help them grow by sharing the gospel with the lost? Do you love your Lord Messiah enough to do what he told you to do? Do you love your own soul enough to share the good news with others?… Read More Do I Love My Church Family…And The Lost…Enough To Share the Gospel With Others?
There is no human man on earth whom I admire more than my father, Mike Mitchell. One reason I respect him so much is because when he was involved in full-time ministry, there were many, many times in which he would arrive at the church building very early in the morning, sometimes hours before a Sunday morning worship service would begin, sometimes very early in the morning on a weekday. Once he arrived, he would go into the auditorium and sit in the same pew, in the same spot, that an individual member of the church or a family who attends sits…and he would pray for them. He would sit where they sit, and he would petition God on their behalf. If they were struggling spiritually with sin or doubt, he would pray for them. If they were undergoing a physical or emotional hardship, he would pray for them. If there was in fact nothing bad going on in their life, he would still pray for them. Do you love them enough to be sound in your doctrine, your teaching?… Read More Do I Love My Church Family Enough to be Sound in Doctrine?
Christians, never forget this. The lives you live outside of the church building throughout the week on Monday through Saturday…the words you say…your actions…your attitudes…all of it MUST be compelling evidence to everyone who knows you that Christianity is both real and worth their time. You are the only Bible many in your lives will ever read. You must therefore live your lives in such a way to reflect what is in the actual Bible, so that the non-Christians in your life will be willing to read it and study it with you.… Read More Do I Love My Church Family Enough to Not Bring Reproach Upon the Church?
God desires peace and unity in His church (Ps. 133:1; Phil. 2:1-5). That means, Christians, that we must not be the ones who cause strife. Unfortunately, some Christians do that. Diotrophes did because he wanted power. He wanted to be number one. He wanted to have his way all the time (3 John 9-10). God does not want us to be that way.… Read More Do I Love My Church Family Enough to Have a Good Attitude?
