I wrote this back in 2012. With today’s legalization of homosexual marriage by the Supreme Court, I decided to repost it.
Pre-Denominational Christianity
The issue of homosexuality, specifically gay marriage, has been focused on a lot lately, especially as a hot topic of discussion in the news. North Carolina voted to define marriage as between a man and a woman recently, to be followed a few days later by President Obama giving his unequivocal support of same-sex marriage. At the conventions a few weeks ago, the Democratic Party officially endorsed same-sex marriage in its 2012 platform, while the Republican Party officially condemned it. Watch the commentators on TV and read the blogs on the Internet, and you will be exposed to views on this subject ranging from complete acceptance and/or apathy to complete, unconditional rejection and/or hatred. I’ve found it interesting that the Bible is often used by both sides to justify their views. As a result, it can be easy to either misconstrue or be completely ignorant of what God’s Word says…

It is crystal clear that God hates this sin to the degree that in Genesis, He destroyed a whole of four cities (Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim) Deu. 29:23; Gen. 18:20; 19:1-11. The sentence for a man lying with a man as with a woman was death (Lev.20:13), the same as rape, murder, and even adultery. The passages in Roman 1:18-28 make it crystal clear those who reject God, He will allow them to become as wicked and immoral as they choose, but the end result will be, “they will receive in their own persons the due penalty of their errorl.” And within the homosexual and lesbian communities the sins that follow can also be found (Rom. 1:29-33). The passages that list those who practice homosexuality will not enter the kingdom of heaven, (1 Cor. 6:9-10) and among those listed as “unrighteous, “lawless and rebellious” are homosexuals (1 Tim. 1:8-10)
By the Supreme Court declaring legal same sex marriage in all 50 States (of which the Constitution clearly says they have no right to make new laws for the people, only to judge what our God fearing Christ believing forefathers sat down and wrote to govern these United States) they have crossed the mark in the sand. And it seems oh so clear God has given those who reject Him and His word up to a reprobate (deprived) mind to do those things that are not natural. These are the footprints of God walking away from this nation. .We are becoming a nation no longer under God in submission and honor. But we will always be a nation (as every nation is) that will answer to God.(Acts 17:30-31; 2 Cor. 5:10; John 12:48) Pray for the faithful of this nation to stand firm in Christ and God’s word.
