If the fossils found are billions of years old, and the earth is only millions, where did this come from?
The fossils found are not actually billions of years old, and the earth is not actually millions of years old.
The earth is actually only about 6,000 years old. Historically, Jesus was crucified about 2,000 years ago (4-7 BC), the Jews were taken into Babylonian captivity about 400 years earlier (586-587 BC), and Solomon’s temple was built around 967 BC. 480 years prior to that according to 1 Kings 6:1, Moses led the Israelites out of Egyptian slavery. 430 years prior to that according to Galatians 3:17, God called Abraham. A study of the genealogy of Shem in Genesis 11:10-26 shows that there were about 423 years between the global flood and Abraham. A study of the genealogy of Adam in Genesis 5, combined with the information found in Genesis 7:11, shows that there was about 1,700 years between Adam and the flood. Thus, the earth is about 6,000 years old.
Fossils are formed when the carcass is quickly covered with sediment from water, ice, and wind. These were the conditions all over the world that were happening during the global flood. Thus, the fossils aren’t billions of years old. They’re actually around 4,000 years old.
