Jesus, Our Savior

The Hebrew writer acknowledged that forgiveness of our sins would be impossible “without the shedding of blood” (Heb. 9:22).  He further pointed out that the animal sacrifices of the Old Testament are insufficient to take away our sins (Heb. 10:3-4).

That’s why Jesus went to the cross.

Paul brought this out when he wrote that it is in the “beloved Son” that “we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins,” as well as “peace by the blood of his cross” (Col. 1:13-14, 20).

Jesus of Nazareth died so that we might live.  He was the only one who could do it.  He still is.

Praise God!
